1999 Dodge Ram Pickup 2500 quad cab 4 X 4 review from North America

1) They're made in Mexico with cheap labor, but the resale price does not reflect the cheap labor cost savings.

2) Break Fluid reservoir leaks profusely when off road.

3) Steering shaft replaced within 15,000 miles.

4) Both rear brake drums replaced within the first 5000 miles for being out of round.

5) Left door handle snapped off within first 5000 miles and was never used prior to it's demise.

6) Power steering pump disintegrated within the first 5000 miles.

7) Ignition switch needed adjustment and steering wheel still does not lock.

8) Over head computer was replaced within 20,000 miles.

9) Air conditioning intermittently goes out and no one knows why, but the dealers still charged $70.00 for the inspection. That was a rip off.

10) Anti spin differential does not work. This truck, while in 4 wheel (actually Peg Leg 2 wheel drive, 1 front 1 rear) drive will get stuck in any

situation that has a slight slip on one tire, regardless of the type tires you have. It's the worst limited slip I have ever experienced.

11) It also had 1 recall in the first year.

After 20,000 miles all the initial problems except for 2, 9 & 10 have been resolved under warranty.

Would I by another Dodge product. No way! They seem to lack complete quality control especially from their vendors who make all the parts.
