2001 Seat Ibiza Cupra 20VT review from UK and Ireland
"Fantastic value - a well built hot hatch"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Squeaky drivers seat, common problem apparantly - needs regular lubrication.
Excessive chipping of paint, again a common problem, but Seat are unwilling to repair under warranty.
General comments?
Interior is very nice indeed! Seats are supportive (perhaps a little too hard for some) and everything is well laid out and clear. Switchgear and materials all feel of high quality.
As standard performance is a little lack
lustre for my tastes, perhaps due in some ways to the fact the car hides speed extremely well. With an ECU upgrade to 200BHPish the car is an absolute flyer! Brakes are good with plenty of pedal feel.
Handling is a little sloppy, but I'm told this can be sorted fairly cheaply.
