1999 Plymouth Neon Expresso review from North America
"A high performance bargain that is also very reliable and easy to work on"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The sunroof tracks got out of line.
I easily fixed it myself.
General comments?
I have noticed that all the bad reviews for this car were from owners that bought them with at least 90,000 miles on them. Unfortunately, Neons tend to get no respect and many owners of new Neons do not take care of them.
Neons are great cars and have a very enthusiastic following. (See www.neons.org). They are cheap, reliable, fast, and handle like a sports car. And there is a wealth of aftermarket parts that will allow you to embarrass 5.0 Mustangs and Z28 Camaros at the drag strip. This is my second Neon. I gave my 95 to my daughter, and though she seems to be intent on destroying it, it is still running fine with 195,000 miles on it.
