2000 HSV Clubsport R8 VX review from Australia and New Zealand
"The car certainly earns every dollar you spend on it"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Passenger bag cover lifted at edge
premature clutch wear
rattle in body
squeaky driver seat.
General comments?
For an Australian built car, it is very very good. Plenty of punch. Manual is heavy so it's not a car for the weak hearted. Handling very good for a big car. Plenty of features, especially safety. Interior is comfortable. Bigger brakes option is worthwhile. Sunroof adds to the enjoyment - go for one! Great fuel economy for a V8 considering its size. Extremely quiet interior if you are just cruising. Engine has a wonderful growl when pushed.
