1989 Volvo 760 GLE review from Norway
"A safe, secure, luxurious and quick brick!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Nothing.
General comments?
This is most certainly the best car I've ever had! I had to sell it due to financial problems, but I regret doing it to this day.
The car was in almost mint condition when I bought it, and despite a lot of well-meant warnings from people not to buy a V6 Volvo, I still went ahead and got it. I had no problems whatsoever.
The 150Hp V6 engine fits this car like a glove. I have tried the 165hp 2.3L Turbo version of the same car, but was disappointed of the performance. The V6 version is faster and feels more powerful.
The only disadvantage of this car is that the gas mileage is not so good. Mines used about 10-15 liters/100Km, depending on driving style.
Due to the generous amount of power this engine delivers, the car is very fun to drive! Floor the pedal, and the car takes off like a wild horse! Overtaking is as easy as a breeze. You see the car in front, think to yourself you want to pass it, and before you know it, it is behind you.
The car had all extras, like Electronic Climate Control, powered sunroof, power windows, power steering, differential brakes... you name it, it had it.
The seats is typical Volvo, you can sit in the car for 12 hours straight, and come out feeling better than when you entered the car!
If I would buy one again? Well, I am currently looking for one I can afford...
