1993 Toyota Landcruiser VX review from UK and Ireland
"Wonderful, good fun and nobody messes with you!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Starter motor remained switched on after switching off engine at approximately 50000.
Air conditioning failed at 118000. Re-gassing with dye showed the condenser was leaking which was quite costly to repair.
New front calipers and new master cylinder required at 118000 after brakes failed whilst intense and fast downhill driving (my fault).
New radiator and oil cooler again at 180000 miles.
General comments?
Quite simply the best vehicle I have ever owned.
It is incredibly reliable and never actually broken down and at over 122000 miles is still as comfortable and rust free as it was ten years ago although a bit noisier in the last couple of years.
It has been used for towing a large caravan and boat and never complained once, in fact it is very easy to forget the caravan is attached, making speeding whilst towing a bit of a problem.
Loads of space in the boot for dogs and luggage, but don't get sucked into driving everyone you know to the airport.
