1983 Buick LeSabre Limited review from North America
"The Buick LeSabre, a car made to drive!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
At 180,000 miles I replaced the calipers, complete brake job.
At 200,000 miles I changed the rear differential oil.
At 210,000 miles I replaced the original radiator. And all belts.
At 235,000 miles I replaced the original water pump and it's second alternator.
At 240,000 miles I replaced the valve cover gaskets.
At 250,000 miles I replaced the original carburetor.
In addition, i have of course performed regular intervals of service, (i.e;spark plugs, ignition wires and oil changes.
I should also mention, the transmission was rebuilt at 171,000 miles.
General comments?
This is by far the best, most reliable car I have ever owned. And there has been a few over the years.
The engine is original, never has been rebuilt.
My LeSabre is extremely comfortable. I have never been in a car more comfortable, except for it's cousin line of cars that are just as nice.
The LeSabre bounces and sails over the open road, it laughs at "Rough road ahead" signs and eats railroad crossings for dessert!
The LeSabre or"Vanessa"by name, came with a complete history of repairs since 1983.Which is why I know exactly what has been done on it.
Everyone, including my self are impressed with the fact, everything works on the car including the unique big round clock in it's woodgrain dash that people find to be so intersting.
The cloth seats have withstood twenty-years of use very nicely.
The exterior of this solid silver classic, is almost ready for a paint job.
The LeSabre has carried me on many long road trips with peace of mind.
And always fires up on the first turn of its ignition.
It is by far an economy or "gas saver"vehicle. But the lesabre is quick to make up for it in all other ways.
For safety, comfort and reliability this is the car.
It will give you many years and hundreds of thousands of miles of reliable service.
The Buick LeSabre was made for something that even luxury car makers forget. The LeSabre was made to drive and drive it does!!!
And I plan to drive it from now and years to come.
