1982 Mazda RX7 Savanna LSD Spec Edn review from UK and Ireland
"The only car I've ever really admired"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
There is a little rust at the bottom of both doors which is not bad enough to bother about. Otherwise no problems as yet.
General comments?
It is unusual to find a 1982 Savanna RX-7 LSD at all.
It is even more unusual to find one which is virtually the same as the day it left the factory.
Made for the Japanese home market the car features a cruise control, leather interior, 'rotor' styled wheels, tinted windows and a 6-port induction 12a engine.
As a finishing touch an emergency flare is provided as standard.
I've never before thought of cars as being 'beautiful', but the bullet-shape of this '82 model is just that.
Even now, some 21 years after it was made, there's nothing on the road quite as good looking as my Savanna!
It looks as if it's doing 100 mph when it's just standing still.
In its day it was one of the fastest, but time and engineering developments have improved generally and it's not as lively as some quite 'ordinary' cars.
This is my sixth Rx-7 and by far the best of the bunch.
I'm desperately trying to keep the mileage down to preserve the car for future owners.
