1991 Nissan Primera LX review from Belgium
"Very reliable family car"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The battery died in a freezing winter after 11 years of service.
The electric aerial didn't function anymore after 2 years, it froze shut during winter which caused the motor to overheat and break down. I never had it fixed though because the radio is still playing fine.
General comments?
A very reliable car, for the last 2 years I had to leave it outside a garage and still it starts immediately every morning. No engine or electrics problems so far in 12 years.
No rust at all, apart from some minor scratches caused by a dog this car is in mint condition.
Sometimes the gearbox refuses to go in reserve. I have to get back in 1st gear, drive a bit forward and then it works. Luckily this doesn't happen too often, but it can be annoying when parking the car.
Fuel consumption is too high for a 1600cc engine, 600-650km with 50 liters of petrol is my average.
