1998 Ford Expedition Eddie Bower review from North America

Two days after getting the truck we were driving at night and the headlight would flash like they were trying to go out. Only happened a couple times that night. Two months later they went out completely and the alternator quit charging. Dealer found the problem to be a bad fuse block and the complete unit was replaced. They also replaced the GEM module (General Electronics Module?). Total for repairs was $500.00.

After the repairs the compass no longer worked, I never returned to have it checked.

Front roll stabilizer link broke. Probable cause was some aggressive 4 wheeling. $10.00 fix.

Seat belt latches for right rear and center seat both broke. Replaced with parts from salvage yard, $30.00. Breakage was caused by tilting rear seat for 3rd seat access, then catching seat belt latch as seat was tilted back down.

Replaced disk brake pads on all four wheels. Rotors and calipers were in excellent condition.

I change the oil at 3000 miles, and filters as needed or at 5000 miles.

Living in northern Wyoming I actually use my Expedition's 4 wheel drive in all extremes.

Ground clearance is excellent.

Handles and performs very well in deep snow and mud.

We have driven cross country numerous times, I am very impressed with the room and comfort.

Visibility around the truck is very good for such a large vehicle.

My wife and I are both very impressed and pleased with this truck. We are presently looking to get a second Expedition to replace her car.
