1998 Chevrolet Camaro Z - 28 review from North America
"A smile on four wheels that goes as fast as you want to go"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Nothing so far. I have some damage to the rear driver side bottom leather seat cushion that looks to be from some external source, not failure of upholstery.
General comments?
I bought this car off the internet after driving a couple locally. I had a dealer check it prior, and they seem to have been thorough as I have had zero problems so far. My suggestions to potential Z buyers: have the car checked prior to purchase. I bought mine from an old fart like me (50-59 year old) who took excellent care of it.
I bought this car for my wife and to drive on weekends. It handles very well and has a nice ride, even at speed. I am impressed at how solid it feels at speed with the top down.
I have owned many cars from a '57 Bel Air convertible, a '69 Vette roadster, a couple of Fiat 124 Spyders, etc, and this one is the most fun so far.
This car is fun, fast and fairly priced. It goes around a corner as fast as I want to go (I've waxed several crotch rockets with no sweat) and is pretty quick for a stock car. I can outrun almost any stock car from a stand still or at 80 + mph. This is a poor mans Vette and a lot safer than my '63 small block nova rag top. Are there better cars? Yes, but not at this price. As an added bonus, I can haul my two teen age sons and wife, who are all smiling as we haul butt down the highway.
