1995 Nissan Primera eGT review from UK and Ireland
"People in the know bough one"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Mysterious whine from the clutch/transmission. Happens when pulling away and more recently on some gear changes. Dealer has stripped gearbox, but found nothing.
Small minor things. Brake pads good for 30k miles. Still on same set of disc's.
General comments?
I'm on my second Primera. My previous car was a 2.0 SLX, but I have yet to find a car that has been a joy to drive as the eGT. Yes it is not the fastest, in fact it struggles to sixty, but on the move and 3rd gear is nothing short of fantastic. Swallows luggage, handles great and on top of that it has not been too thirsty.
I've driven a lot of cars, but I love driving the Primera. Nice leather interior and all the electrics works as they have always done. Insurance group 14 for 150hp not bad either.
Why did Nissan stop producing the GT? I think they miss the point with the new one as all eGT drivers will probably tell them. A Great car.
