2000 Chevrolet Silverado LS 1500 review from North America
"Good value for the money"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
2 Weeks after buying this truck, the voltage meter starting jumping around and the battery light came on the message center at stop lights. The next 3 days spent watching this problem get worse. In trying to get it to the dealers, all the gauge's stopped working, along with power windows, radio... anything running off the battery. I barely made it to the service center. The truck started sputtering about a mile from center. After about 6-8 hours of doing their "testing", finally giving me a loaner (as they had to keep it over night), they figured out that the PCM valve (?) went bad, the alternator was going bad and the battery had a short in it.
The Daytime Running Lights bulb blow a lot.
General comments?
All in all, a pretty solid feeling truck. Love the power when I need to pass someone or haul something. A really comfortable truck for driving distances. I really like the 3rd door!
