2000 Renault Laguna Sport 2.0 8v review from UK and Ireland
"How can you improve on perfection??"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
No a great deal really. Most of the 'niggles' I had were to do with the dealer damaging the vehicle (scratches on the paintwork mostly).
The only fault I found on the car was a vibration from the dashboard area, after many trips to the dealer (and subsequent trips to rectify damage), they thought it was due to the dashboard so were prepared to put in a complete new one (at a cost of £800, to them not me), before they did this they took the car out on test with no dash in at all, and it was still there. I'm happy to say this was eventually traced to a faulty windscreen seal. The car was put back together, valeted and returned to me. I must say all the time this was going on I had free use of a hire car they provided me with which was superb.
General comments?
The car is truly excellent. Great economy (42mgp on a run), reasonable insurance & loads of space. On top of that it looks amazing too.
Comfort is right up there with the best of them as I have come to expect from Renault, I have never had a car quite as comfortable as any of my Renaults.
I know the Renault auto boxes can be unreliable, but can honestly say that when mine have let me down in the past (I have owned 9 Renaults in total from Clio to Espace) I have always had excellent service from the main dealer network. I really feel for anyone who has had poor service from Renault & feel that they could never buy another as I think they are truly missing out on a great car. I can honestly say I would not even look at any other manufacturer, Audi, BMW, Lexus, Mercedes you can keep... Give me a Renault any day!!
