1999 Jeep Wrangler Sahara Edition review from North America
"A high priced money sucker, but fun to drive"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Hard Top leaked profusely when it rained. Dealer fixed by creating silicone gaskets around vents near the back of the hardtop on the left and right hand side.
Instrument cluster shorts out.
Airbag light comes on, and the speedometer and tachometer both fall to zero. What can this be? I hate this problem and I've only had the car for a month and a half. It is my first expensive car.
I am disappointed at where I bought it a Briggs dealership.
I'm going to run it by a 5 star Chrysler dealer for inspection tomorrow. Pray for me and my Jeep.
General comments?
I find the seats very comfortable.
On the highway it doesn't seem any noisier than my friends Nissan truck.
The interior is nice, but the plastic is cheap and cracks quickly.
Exterior paint, chips easily and is impossible to find touch up paint for. I live in the city and it chips like I was driving in the country. I own a gold 1999 Sahara Edition and I can't find a paint match anywhere.
Doors swing wildly open, in parking lots this is a real problem due to hitting other cars and the Jeep door is the only one that chips its paint.
