2003 MG ZR Atomix 105 review from UK and Ireland
"Fantastic looks, handling and value, I love it!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
So far, only teething problems.
Rattle in the sunroof and one somewhere in the boot area.
Drivers window shudders when opened (electric window).
Handbrake pulls up so far it's almost vertical.
Haven't been back to the dealer to get them sorted yet.
General comments?
This is my first brand new car and is my first experience of power steering and all the luxuries such as a gear box where you can find the gears! (oh how I loved my old MG Metro!).
I found it hard to get used to the gear ratios, but now I've done a few hours driving it's fine. The car performs (& sounds) better when revved quite high before changing gear.
My ZR was a bargain as it is a special edition Atomix and came fully loaded with extras. I managed to get a great deal from the garage after a lot of discussion.
The seats are really comfortable, everyone who sits in it comments on them.
The new Kenwood stereo has fantastic sound quality, looks good and is reasonably easy to use.
The reaction from people is great, although sometimes a bit disconcerting. A couple of times I have parked my car and come back to find people looking it over and peering through the windows, but with the amount of security features it has I feel quite happy leaving it.
