General comments?

I bought this car after the torsion bar on my 83 Dodge Mirada went out - I needed a car and this was it. For $1000, you can't beat it, but I had to put $1100 worth of work into it to repair what the previous owner had done to it in the course of its 160,000 miles.

However, the engine has been replaced sometime in its lifetime - the VIN designation says it's a throttle-body engine, but what is in place is an L4 BPI engine - strange. It threw me for a pretty hard loop when I found that out, and the previous owner failed to tell me that the original TBI engine blew out about 40,000 miles ago, and they had not bothered to note it on the title, nor on the odometer reading, which is false.

The interior of the car is beautiful, and it's comfortable. After having my Mirada, without tilt seats (but it has tilt steering), it's a sinful luxury to have tilt-back seats.

Also, having power steering and air conditioning in the Texas heat is wonderful - my Mirada had neither, due to several mechanical faults. :)

Overall, I'm in love with this car, and I refuse to buy anything else, but another Cavalier or Chevrolet.

Fuel economy is incredible, I average about 28 miles to the gallon with it, and I drive a LOT on the highway, so it's gentle mileage.
