1998 Dodge Intrepid review from North America
"Terrible. You'll need a new engine"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Engine failure at 73000 miles. Transmission censor at 68000 miles. Serpentine tension pulley bearings went bad and tore belt apart at 78000 miles.
General comments?
We had to buy new engine at over $4000.00! The corporation claimed the engine failed due to lack of maintenance because no oil was found in it. But we change oil like clockwork every 3000 miles and we have receipts to prove it. Chrysler didn't care. This is a sludge build up problem. We know this because our last vehicle was a Dodge Ram that sludged up. However, it was under warranty and they had to give us a new engine. The same thing happened with the Intrepid. But now, because it is not under warranty, it is our fault!
