1992 Honda Civic EX review from North America
"Unreliable and rusts a lot"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
I had to replace the timing belt and the water pump immediately after I purchased the car. Then both (upper and lower) radiator hoses blew up. Shortly after this, I had to replace the radiator itself, because it was rusted through and was leaking. Then after a year of driving it started to overheat, and the head gasket had to be replaced. Less than a month after it was done, the alternator started giving 18 volts instead of normal and caused the battery to boil and crack. I had to replace both. Also, the car rusted a lot, even though I kept it inside the heated and dry garage.
General comments?
In overall, the car drives fine, very responsive, very economic. Honda Civic is known to be a very reliable car, but there are exceptions - just like mine was.
