2000 Jeep Wrangler SE review from North America
"An excellent affordable all terrain vehicle"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Original Single Layer Soft Top had to be replaced twice due to faulty stitching.
Driver Side Sun-visor had to be replaced due too bad stitching.
General comments?
Very good all terrain vehicle. I have been able to go just about anywhere without getting stuck.
The soft top assembly (to include the side windows) is very easy to work with. The OEM factory Sailcloth Top that is on the vehicle now makes for a very comfortable and quiet ride at high speeds.
The mechanically operated Dual Range 4wd system is extremely simple yet reliable.
Although factory rated to tow 2000 lbs, I have used this vehicle to tow trailers weighing 2500 lbs or more without any trouble to the engine and power-train.
This is a very versatile vehicle that is more than cost effective to upgrade and/or add vital accessories to. The simplicity and reliability of this vehicle is outstanding.
The starting price for this vehicle was less than all the other vehicles in it's class that I looked at in 2000, and it was the only vehicle that came standard factory equipped with 4wd and a safety roll cage. All though not as comfortable as the other vehicles that I looked at, it is by far the best, most reliable, and most fun.
