2001 Alfa Romeo 147 Progression review from Portugal
"The worst car we've ever had!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Before the first year ended (38 000 km) we almost died on the highway because the turbo got broken, the engine got broken, there was black smoke everywhere and most of all, we had no breaks.
One month later we had the car again (with another engine and turbo) and 4 months later at 170 km/hour the engine got broken again and the power steer didn't move and we almost got killed again.
The car was at the garage for 2 months.
After that we had 3 other problems, always related with the engine, but nothing as serious as the first two.
Of course that between these episodes, we had smaller problems related to broken diesel pipes.
General comments?
Every time we have to go on a big trip, our car gets broken and puts our live in jeopardy.
We were never afraid to drive, but this car showed us what fear is.
Apart from its incredible comfort, incredible and beautiful design this car it's the worst car we've ever had.
We want to buy another car, but we paid for it € 30 000 on January 2002 and now, it's value is €17 500.
Incredible, isn't it?
Of course that Alfa Romeo Offered us € 21 000 but, we would have to give € 8 000 more to buy another AR.
After all the problems "their car" caused us, they still want us to pay for another car!
Alfa Romeo it's a car that's what we never, ever want to buy again!
