1991 Ferrari 348 TS review from UK and Ireland
"Every drive is an"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Nothing.
General comments?
The engine emits the most beautiful sound, such that I never use the hifi system. I have the stainless steel sports exhaust which adds a few extra HP, but is worth it for the sound alone. Just awesome.
The interior is understated with a timeless austere classiness. Lots of hidden storage spaces.
Performance is rapid and useable thanks to the linear output of the normally aspirated engine (no turbo). So useable in fact that you will soon get used to it.
It's a cliche, but it really does handle as if on rails. The tyres are made of a softer rubber than usual which means that although they only last for 10K or so, they grip amazingly well.
Expect to to be stared at wherever you go and for people to come over and chat about your vehicle wherever you stop. Sometimes this can be tiring!
I had expected the buzz to wear off by now, but I still shake with excitement every time I drive the 348. Despite it's age she looks brand new and has not dated atall (not just my opinion).
No faults atall as yet. Starts first time every time. I paid over the odds for a concours example. I think it is worth getting the best you can afford as bills can be the killer with this type of car.
