1988 Pontiac Bonneville LE review from North America
"A true Battle Axe!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Coil pack had to be replaced at 95K miles. Dealer replaced every other electrical component such as cam sensor, crankshaft sensor, and ignition module before he found the coil pack at fault.
Alternator went out at 83k miles.
Front right CV axle boot has deteriorated.
Starter has been replaced.
Right side of the radio internal electrical components have fried, so the right speakers no longer work.
General comments?
This car rides and drives very well for a car of it's size and age.
I purchased the car from a Maine couple who purchased it new. I live in Georgia and was worried about rust problems, but so far so good.
I also have a 1991 Bonneville with the standard 3.8L V-6 and it currently has 183K miles on it and has had only very minor problems. The both take a lickin' and keep on tickin'!
