1990 Buick LeSabre Custom review from North America
"Reliability, performance, safety"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Starter went bad at 209,000 miles.
Many alternators in its life.
Front brakes every 30,000.
Fuel pump at 220,000.
Exhaust at 230,000.
Wheel barring went at 206,000 and again at 225,000, then I replaced it with a NAPA wheel barring and had no more problems.
The valve cover gasket seeped at 230,000 and the oil pan gasket leaked some too replaced both.
Cam position sensor went at 190,000 and was replaced at 233,000.
General comments?
This car gets a bad rap as an old persons car, but it has tons of power. The car tops out at 120MPH and does 0-60 in under 9sec.
handles well for the weight, but has a tendency to over-steer.
