1983 Chevrolet C10 Silverado review from North America
"An awesome piece of equipment"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The timing was 4 degrees too far advanced.
The floats in the Edelbrock 4bbl. were not set right by any means.
The factory valve covers leaked oil.
The fuel pump was not working properly.
A tie rod was loose.
The front rotors were warped.
The wheel bearings were loose and needed to be repacked.
General comments?
The RV-Camshaft, Edelbrock 4BBL., Edelbrock intake manifold and the headers really make the 305 scream.
The 3.73 gears along with the positive carrier really help move the truck.
The 700R4 Chevrolet Transmission loves to get the truck off the line.
The bottom line, even though I have encountered a few problems when I bought the 20 year old beast, I would never trade it for the world.
All they need is a little Tender Love and Care. Put some work with that and you will have yourself one of the best running vehicles you have ever owned.
