2000 Kia Sedona GLX review from UK and Ireland

The below problems were wrong when NEW!

Driver's electro-mechanical folding mirror does not work.

Front lights have condensation in both units.

Handbrake did not engage properly (required replacing unit).

The below happened after:

Gear stuck in reverse at a turning. Eventually 'forced' the gearstick out.

The seatbelt warning light is always on.

The unlock/unimmobilise doesn't always unimmobilise.

Driver's door creaks (badly) - requiring lubrication.

A free bike comes with the car... three months on and greater than expected demand has meant that I still haven't got it.

Also a supply problem with the electric mirror.

The valeting was incomplete when picking up new: I had the family with me so couldn't wait. This included excess unbuffed polish on the body. There were foreign paint spots over the front near-side bodywork. There was a scrape on the front bumper and two significant paint chips on the nearside low bodywork. The manual is good, although lacks a decent index.

The dealer did not give me a tour of my vehicle - perhaps this was due to the first thing that they did was to try and operate the electro-mechanical mirrors. I still have a button, the function of which I am unaware.

Even though the picture that I paint here is pretty grim, there are no major flaws. The equipment is high-spec and, inside, it feels expensive. It also feels very robust, pulls away well at 2000 revs and does about 400 miles on a £50 tank of diesel. As a seven seater, it's excellent value for money.
