2001 Volvo S60 Base review from North America
"Safe, solid, worry-free"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
CD player has stopped ejecting CDs correctly. CD only ejects 1/4 inch then you have to pull out yourself.
The LCD displays on the CD player/radio do not work well in extremely cold temperatures (-20 F and below).
The front stabilizers links were making a squeaking sound at about 8000 miles and were replaced under warranty.
General comments?
A great car in general that has perhaps the best seats I have ever had the joy to sit in. Heated seats a great bonus in cold weather.
2.5L manual is sufficiently powerful for the average driver. Handling is not super sporty, but well above average.
Comfort and safety is the name of the game with Volvo and the S60 does not disappoint.
This car is rock solid and a great commuter and long distance trip car. I'd get an automatic 2.4T if I had to deal with daily traffic though.
