1992 Nissan Primera eGT review from UK and Ireland
"Fast, reliable and discreet"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
2 outer CV joints needed replacing - approx £80 each for non OE parts, easy to fit apart from removal and refitting of ABS ring to new joints.
Handbrake cable snapped - rear RH cable required, £50 for part from dealership.
2 rear dampers required.
General comments?
Oil changed every 6000 miles - no oil consumed between changes.
Car has a high mileage but doesn't show it.
Very firm suspension allows little body roll - excellent on smooth roads, however can become slightly skittish when driven quickly on bumpy country roads.
Engine needs to be revved to make the most of the performance. Similar performance to most normal 2.0 litre cars until 6000rpm. 6000 - 7500 is where the engine really pulls. 70mph achievable in 2nd!
Paid £2000 for the car and very pleased with it.
