1989 Nissan 240SX SE review from North America
"A very hot little sports car"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The transmission went out at 56,000 miles, but the previous owner (my mom) had apparently never added new fluid to it!
Cooling system went haywire last year,
due to a few cracked radiator
hoses, but luckily no permanent
damage to the engine.
A few rust spots on the body, especially around the sunroof.
Brake lights occasionally short-out.
Crappy radio (original), replaced it
with a high-quality Alpine CD player.
General comments?
Awesome handling.
Very cool Heads Up Display (HUD) on the
windshield. Digital speedometer looks
high-tech for an 89 model.
Very quick little devil, don't let the 4-cylinder 2.4L fool you.
No major mechanical failures. The car
just needs basic maintenance and some TLC, and it'll get you there and back, no problem.
My 240 has been babied its entire life,
evident from the mere 64,000 miles. I intend to keep this car for a very long
time, adding performance enhancements
and accessories along the way.
