1992 TVR Griffith Convertible review from UK and Ireland
"Fantastic engine"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Blew a UJ on the way back from a SERIOUS thrash up the Alps but then again I did fit it myself, new radiator after I stuffed her headlong into one of Suffolks longest corn fields (had to push it out on my own) and a driver side door mirror screw thingy that originally comes off a Citroen Diane or something but costs £189 because it's TVR. I took it to my local TVR dealer who scratched the door getting the old one off, so I got that for nothing, except for go juice it's just cost me tyres, loads of Mobil 1, oilchange every 3000 with filter, they don't like traffic, I've heard of a decoke at 11000 mls on a London 5 ltr Griff, if your revs rise and fall on tickover it's normal, if the revs remain high its likely to be the "stepper valve" found on the inlet plenium and is shaped like a fifty pence piece, disconnect it from the small loom and gently unscrew and remove it, clean off carbon deposits and make sure thread is clean before you put some PTFE tape on thread and replace the "stepper valve", connect loom and away you go, revs back to normal.
