1979 Pontiac Bonneville review from North America
"A great American auto"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
New Carburetor, plugs and wires, PCV valve, and fuel filter at 150,000 miles.
New fuel line the whole length at 140,000 miles.
Had to have the car repainted after hitting a deer at 130,000 miles.
Other than those problems mentioned above there has just been the regular routine maintenance.
General comments?
This car was used by the dealer for the first year and was then purchased by my great grandfather in 1980.
It isn't one of those old cars that sits in the garage and only comes out on a nice sunny day it is a tough daily driver. I can't say enough about it.
It has a decent engine for its size and has more than enough room for six and the trunk has enough room for almost anything, that is with a full size spare in there also.
This is my first car and hopefully it will be my last. I love my Bonneville. If you ever find one I suggest you buy it.
