1994 Chevrolet Camaro NA review from North America
"It has a few down's, but how can you be picky with a car this cool?"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Driver side power windows motor went out at 117,000. The brake line rusted through at 119,000 but the owner before me didn't keep the bottom clean.
General comments?
I got this as my first car even though I read many reviews saying that this car is not good for new drivers. I was a little nevus at first, but the more I drive it, the more I'm glad I bought it!
I was a little worried about the handling on bad roads, because I live in the frozen tundra of northeast Ohio. But so far, I have had no problems! I put two 70 pound sand bags in the trunk and I take it easy, but I have gone though slush, snow, and ice with out any problems! I have made it down roads that I don't even know if some trucks could make it down. I think most people are just spoiled with their little front wheel drive cars.
However for new drivers I would still say you couldn't go driving this car like other cars on bad roads. You have to be careful. I'm just saying it's not impossible to be driven year around. But you have to use common since on wet and snowy roads.
It has been very dependable so far. Runs like new and burns no oil. The Steering and framework are still very solid. Of course it's all in the way you drive and take care of it. If you race it off the line every time or you do not keep up with maintenance you are bound to break something. Camaro's are not invincible.
It handles like a racecar on dry roads! It's Very fun to drive. Watch out though, they have a target on them for police car.
I like the inside, but many people don't like the tight space. It feels like your riding on the road and the ceiling seems to close down on you. The back seats and very cramped and there is not much cargo room. The main thing I don't like about the car is the cheap plastic dashboard. But I do think the seats are comfortable and I like the stile of the interior. Over all "I" like the interior.
Over all I feel like I got a steal for $3,000. I would never trade it for any civics, focuses, Neon's, and Mazda's, "Ferrari's ha ha" ect... even if they were newer. I have no plans of selling this car!
