2002 Opel Vectra Elegance review from Poland
"Comfortable, but lacks of performance"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Strange noises coming from gearbox tunnel - after intervention, service found loose screw, done withing warranty period.
Broken upholstery on rear left door, probably from the beginning, found after few weeks - replaced within warranty.
Strange noises coming from rear suspension, still not solved ; (
A few times I had problems with starting the engine, and it wasn't cold outside, strange.
General comments?
Good looking, representative car, but unfortunately the performance with 1.8 is not very good - my previous car (Hyundai Lantra 1.6) had much better acceleration. Engine is sluggish
below 3500 rpm and has irritating noise below 2500 rpm. Generally good handling and high level of safety and comfort. I wonder why they don't offer 2.0 engine instead of 1.8. They need to fix some details and the car will be OK. Price was quite good for such a big car - less than 20000 euros.
