2000 Volkswagen Bora 1.9 TDI Comfortline review from Luxembourg
"Underpowered and Unknown Well Design"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Timing belt became very loud at around 45000 km. (replaced by dealer).
H7 lamps and some other exterior lights had to be replaced occasionally.
(replaced them my selves, dealer is too expensive for these 'small' things).
Light behind the heater operation switches does not work (very difficult to operate when driving in dark).
(a lot of Volkswagen without the climate control panel have this)
Tweeter of the speaker system failed to work at 90,000 km at the driver's side.
General comments?
Very comfortable car.
Extremely well made, fit and finish.
Very modern inside and outside lines.
Little small in the back, but this is made up with the very roomy trunk of the car.
All the options you need on a car:
Rain sensor, air conditioning, 4 headrests, comfort seats, double airbags and side bags.
I think it's a pity that there is not a standard 8 speaker system on this car, and the 90 horsepower engine is a little to underpowered for a 1230 kg heavy 4 door sedan.
