1991 Geo Storm Geo 2+2 coupe review from North America
"Definitely worth the money"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The windshield was hit by a golf ball at the local course.
Drivers seat was slightly worn.
Drivers door wouldn't latch closed, and passenger inner door latch was broken along with both arm rests.
Fourth gear was frozen on original transmission.
General comments?
When I bought the vehicle for $500, I was expecting a lot of problems with it. It came with a new transmission, it was a deal I couldn't pass up.
The transmission was replaced and new struts and seals were put in the engine, full service of the transmission, radiator, and the engine were performed by myself.
Brakes were replaced before I purchased the vehicle, and I also replaced the clutch with a racing version.
The engine responds well to modifications, so far I have a chip, cold air intake, ported and polished head, under-drive pulleys, and a turbo charger pushing 15 pounds of boost.
All in all the car responds very well to modifications and can be made very fast for very cheap.
Investigating the possibility of adding an all wheel drive system from an Isuzu impulse RS and possibly the motor. Total gains would be around 400+ horsepower.
Recently tested my car at 200+ Horse power, that is unheard of on a car that weighs less than 2,500 pounds.
Will eat a Camaro with little mods done, and not a bad looking car to begin with. I'm very please with performance per dollar. A good investment of time too.
