2004 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD LS review from North America

The only problem I have had with this truck is that both rear door latch sensors went out, giving a "right rear door ajar" (or left) on the console. When the door was locked the alarm would go off randomly. Happened at 3:00AM one night, and I jumped out of bed preparing (arming) to chase of someone messing with my new truck.

It took the dealership only 15 minutes to replace both latches. No worries!

I am surprised at how well a big truck like this handles. (Crew Cab Long Box) The steering is effortless and responsive at low and high speeds. I have only towed a small motorcycle trailer, so I haven't had a chance to test hauling a heavy load. The exterior heated mirrors are great. Large enough, although I recommend bubble mirrors for a wide angle view of what's behind (or below) you. The mirrors have a trailering power extension feature that is perfect.

The interior is quiet, and comfortable, with low road noise. I really like how the rear seats fold down to provide a flat cargo surface, to keep gear or dogs dry on rainy days.

The long bed is solid and very roomy. I can easily haul 3 dirt bikes with some space left for gear. I had a spray in bed liner installed and that just adds to the solid feel of the bed.
