2001 Chevrolet Malibu LX review from North America
"Very disappointed"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
1. Intake Manifold Gasket is leaking coolant externally from rear of engine.
2. Rotors replaced at 44,945 miles.
3. I have to jiggle key in ignition to turn car on.
4. Once car engine is turned off car horn honks as if I have a car alarm I do not have a car alarm.
5. Engine rattles when first started in the morning. Stops once engine is warmed up.
General comments?
Intake Manifold Leak causes coolant light to continue to come on. I can see the coolant leaking out of the right side of the engine on the drivers side. Rotors replaced at 44,495 miles. Customer Service refused to assist in the repairs. I believe in buying American cars, but I am having mixed feelings. I am going to mail letters to Chevrolet and the Media, until Chevrolet acknowledges they have a faulty product. I have also filed a claim with the Better Business Bureau. Other people with these problems should do the same, maybe then Chevrolet will acknowledge this problem.
