1985 Volvo 240 GL review from North America
"The best automobile ever made, then and now!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
This car had very low miles when I bought it. Now after 2 years it has 198000 on it. All I have had to do is a new mass air flow sensor. New raidator (the transmission cooler in the raidator ruptured and leaked the tranny fluid in the raidator). New timing belt. New over drive seleniod. All new vaccume hoses. Overhauled the sunroof tracks. New window motor and new door lock cylinder. New heater and A/C blower motor. (Most expensive repair. 785.00)
General comments?
This is the best car I have ever owner. I've always wanted a Volvo and I ran across this one dirt cheap and I had to buy it. I have future repairs that are upcomming on it. These include new rear springs and new interior. It gets semi good gas mileage. Its only about 20 mpg, but for the power it has (not much, but OK.) its well worth the mileage. I would reccommend, to anyone, a Volvo. there relly not any more expensive to repair than any other car. they last longer than anyother car on the road and are the safest car for your family. For long trips its very comfortable and very good on the highway.
