1991 Suzuki Vitara JX review from Australia and New Zealand
"Cheap off-road fun!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Cracked exhaust manifold,
Rubber seals for soft top deteriorated,
Rear suspension really bad
Rust around interior trimmings, door buttons etc.
Seats badly worn
Radiator fluid drips onto pedals
faulty battery.
General comments?
The Vitara is an uncomfortable car to drive for long distances, however if it's used just as a beach 4x4 and for off road fun, it's great.
Never gotten stuck no matter how sloshy the mud was. I've seen new BMW X5's stuck on the beach where the Vitara flew past without any worries.
A bit slow on the road and the larger tyres I have on it make for slippery driving in wet weather.
Despite all the problems I've had with it, it still remains a fun car to drive around with the top down and the Sub Woofer thumping.
