2000 Chevrolet Blazer LS review from North America
"I ordered a base model, few things to go wrong and extended warranty, I got what I paid for"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Small dent as new missed at the time of pick-up, oh well that was my fault.
Rear window defroster was omitted at build time, dealer installed failed at 5000 miles.
Front end noise investigated, a slight squeak, never fond, still have it at 51000 miles.
Fuel level indicator went hay-wire, corrected at no cost, 24000 miles.
Rear brake lights failed just before recall, no cost to me, at 33000 miles.
Right door speaker blew out, free replacement.
Driver's seat control broke off, free replacement at 33000 miles.
Both front wheel bearings replaced, 39000 miles, no cost. This made extended warranty worth every penny for me.
Replaced battery at 39000 miles, $160, seems strange not to be a warranty item.
Replaced brake Master cylinder at 39000 miles due to mushy pedal feel, still not happy with feel, but it does not effect stopping power.
Had to clean tape display garble, another freebie.
Rear door panel, seems loose at top middle section, will be in dealer at next oil change and inspection.
Right rear seatbelt does not retract and will be repaired at next visit.
General comments?
Dealerships seem not to care a lot about customers and their complaints.
This truck was a bare bones build, not too many power options, none actually. besides color, front bench and trailer hitch. Less to go wrong and it has been fairly dependable.
Extended warranty has paid for itself and now I will be highly critical for the final year and 24000 miles.
