1996 Nissan Maxima GXE review from North America
"Nothing better for this money"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
118000km - O2 sensor went out
126000km - O2 sensor went out again - I alway use premium gas. Nissan Dealer wasn't able to give an answer.
Check Engine lite poped up several time. Dealer cleaned computer memory every time and was not able to explain what is going on.
138000km - Wheel aligment
Starter went out on 146000.
After visiting dealership the car started to have more problems, particularly with egnition and electronic system.
Never put the Touring tires on Nissan Maxima. It slides on the wet rod like a cow on the ice.
General comments?
I would buy Maxima again, but a "virgin" only which never visited dealersheep repair mechanics.
Using synthetic oil together with mature driving style it takes gas 23mph in the city and 28-30 on hiway.
