1994 Pontiac Grand Prix SE review from North America

"Good quality car, just make sure you got the extra money to throw into her when she breaks"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Man, where to start!

-New shocks and struts replaced at 98,000 miles ($400) (when I first bought the car

-New fuel pump and filter ($60) replaced at 99,000 miles

-New front and rear brakes, calipers and rotors (total $800) at 105,000 miles

-Alternator ($50) replaced at 115,000 miles

-New engine replaced ($2,000) at 119,000 miles

-All new tires replaced ($400)

-Problem with Service Engine Soon light, pops on after braking when going 50+ mph..can't find out whats wrong.

-Alternator replaced ($40) again at 150,000 miles

-Rear calipers, pads and rotors ($400) replaced at 150,000 miles.

General comments?

If I forget about all the problems I've had with this car, I loved it! From the the way it handles to the acceleration. I bought the car used in 1999 with 95,000 for $4,500 from a auto auction, not bad when your as desperate for a car as I was. Seemed like after the first 6 months everything started happening. Winters are rough, start the car up, but you got to wait a good 5-10 min before you can shift it out of drive otherwise the car will slowly roll forward or backward, pending on what gear your in. Took it to a couple of places and told me I needed all the fluids drained well a wasted $100 later and I find out out I need a Transmission rebuild, ($900),probably not. I'm currently looking into a 2003 Grand Prix.. hopefully she'll treat me better than this one has.
