2001 Chevrolet Malibu LS review from North America
"A vehicle that should be recalled"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Needed to change tires after only 2 months of owning it.
Had to get my battery cables, alternator and battery changed after about 6-8 months of owning it.
Had to keep adding coolant about 4 times in two months.
After owning for only 9 months paint has bubbled up and is peeling very badly.
After owning the car for only 9 months my intake manifold was leaking coolant and I had to get that fixed. I also had to replace parts such as a thermostat, gasket and seal. Along with repairs, I had to get a cooling systems flush.
General comments?
I had bought this vehicle thinking it would be great. I love Chevrolet so I thought that this would be a great car. Well, I guess I should have researched more on this vehicle before I had purchased it.
If you read all the things that have happened to my vehicle all of these had happened within only a 10 months period.
I have spent more money repairing this vehicle than I have even spent on payments so far for the vehicle.
More worse, the trade in value is not even half of what I bought the vehicle for.
I am really disapointed and hope that this manufacturer consider looking to see why this Vehicle had so much mechanical problems and consider a recall on it.
I don't think people should spend so much on a vehicle that is too new that repair manuals haven't even been issued out.
