1997 Chevrolet Malibu LS review from North America
"A sour lemon"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The ABS light comes on periodically, of course the dealer "cannot duplicate problem".
The coolant light kept comming on, so I topped it off with fluid. The next thing I know is the main bearings are shot and I had to replace the motor, at $3,800, ouch!
The transmission is slipping.
General comments?
The Malibu looks and handles good.
I am very disappointed in the durability of this car. There is a reason why a used Honda costs more than a new Chevy, and that's because you can get a more reliable car in a Honda.
