1993 Ford Thunderbird LX review from North America
"Hot looks and handling superceed engine performance and quality"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
1st thing: Rear sway bar.
2nd thing: Thermostat.
3rd thing: Water-pump.
4th thing: Alternator.
5th thing: Power door locks.
General comments?
Bought for $3,700.
Replaced rear sway bar, thermostat, waterpump, and alternator so far.
These vehicles drive extremely well, but tend to develop way too many drivetrain and suspension problems.
Handling is excellent.
Braking tends to shake vehicle.
Electrical system seems to be another downfall for these vehicles, I've own 3 (83,90,93) and found that the MN-12 has the most problems.
My verdict is that there are way better vehicles than this--The V8 power is only a measely 185HP.
The only thing it can beat on the road are V6's.
Ford should have gotten smart and matched it to a Super Coupe platform with a 5-speed manual.
