1999 Jeep Cherokee Classic review from North America
"A very valuable SUV"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
This truck looked like new when I bought it. Used it to manage a construction company and I put a real beating on it for the first 15000 miles I had it. (IE towing pallets of brick pavers and stuff)
The first to go were the tires... no big deal though. $400 dollars and we were on the road again.
Recently, it had a rash of fix-ups. Second item was a hub bearing, $300.
Third item was the rear brake drum, $200.
Fourth item was muffler, $140. But when the muffler was going on, I found I needed a new converter... $250.
Next item is going to be the suspension, she is sagging a bit. Estimated cost: $800 for an aftermarket kit, labor, and balance.
General comments?
I love this truck. It may ride stiff, but that's what a unibody do and that made it very reliable for towing. I plan on driving this truck into the ground. Well, at least unitl 200K miles.
