1986 Chevrolet Caprice Classic review from North America
"Not too bad for an neglected vehicle"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
When I first got the car it was not.
Running. So a new starter and battery.
Was needed.
After I got the thing running, I noticed.
A knocking noise from a bad rod bearing.
After I replaced the engine it needed.
No further work for 2.5 years.
There was another knocking noise coming.
From elongated flywheel holes and.
Stripped holes in the torque converter.
An oil leak started a fire that only.
Hurt my pride and one vacuum hose.
Finally, one window broke when someone.
Pushed down on it and broke the channel.
Retainer.
General comments?
Even after all of these problems, I.
Pride myself being the owner and the.
Mechanic of the car. It defies logic.
And explanation of this beaten up old.
Car.
My parents bought this car for me to.
Work on (and I did WORK!!). It took me.
Three years to get it in a satifactory.
Running condition.
This is my first and only car that I am.
Proud of.
The "Boat" took me through high school.
And has been very reliable on pulling a.
Truck on 5 (!) cylinders and very.
Drivable after a rear end accident.
