2001 Hyundai Elantra GLS review from North America
"A real"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Had vehicle checked at the dealer when first purchased. Everything checked-out fine except for the power mirrors. Having electrical problems now. Took back to dealer and they replaced a fuse (I was told) and everything worked for a short time. Could not find a blown fuse anywhere. Perplexed as to the cause of these problems. It must be something simple that I've over-looked.
Power mirrors do not work.
(checked fuses...OK!)
Power windows do not function. (checked fuses...OK!)
Clock in dash; cannot be changed with the buttons, however, it is working!
General comments?
Bought this car for my daughter (high school senior) to replace the 1991 Toyota Camry DX, which had 190,000 miles on it and had been in a minor fender bender a year ago.
Looks and runs good for a high mileage car, relative to the year built.
The remote door lock is comparable to those higher-end vehicles.
Steering wheel tilt does not go high enough for a person who is six feet or taller... rubs your legs as you enter the vehicle!
Has the CD player with the detachable faceplate that can be easily stored in its little box, in the glove compartment.
Great car for students with all the SRS safety built-in! Can replace car... but not kids!
