1989 Ford Taurus GL review from North America
"Need to be sure when buying a Taurus"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
I bought this car last year and it looks so nice at that time, I check all possible failures and nothing was bad, the transmission oil was clean it runs nice and had no strange engine sounds. At the first look it was so easy to repair because it seems only required a replace of spark plugs, spark plug wires, filters and oil change (tune up) but after I did that I could not get a steady idle engine running.
I tryed everything that my Haynes Service Manual says about rough idling, I check the timing, correct it and it is OK for about two days, but it keeps failing again, nothing happens at high speed instead it runs nicely too good for this kind of car, but when I get at a stop signal my dream becomes a nightmare.
Could somebody helps me whit this, Does anybody had this kind of problem and what you do to solve it?
Please contact boss_family2001@yahoo.com
thank you.
General comments?
The car makes a strong bump sound when accelerate from stop, I checked both engine and transmission supports, but they look OK, don't know.
The interior is excellent for a mid size car and it feels so strong it is a safe car.
The ceiling cover (fabric) is falling from behind.
Above all this inconveniences this is a nice car.
