1998 Chrysler Cirrus LXI review from North America
"Great car, nice ride, depreciated too quickly for a new car"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The first thing that went wrong with the Cirrus was the electrical fan, it started making noise at about 70k miles, but the dealer fixed it. I had bought an extended warranty so the fan was covered.Next there was a small leak coming from my transmission. It started around 85k miles. I had it fixed, but it came back about 25k miles later. The next thing that went wrong was at 116k miles: the throttle positioning sensor. I only knew this because the check engine light came on, I bought the part and put it in my self. Well 24hrs later the engine light came on again and when I took it to the dealer to have it done right they told me it was the same sensor. I told them to fix it and they did. Well 24hrs later the engine light came on again and that was it for me, I had it fixed again and traded it in the next day. Also the leather seats started to fade and crack at around 65k, I don't feel the leather they use on the Cirrus is of the same quality as the Jeep Cherokee or the Sebring.
General comments?
Over all I was very happy with my car it lasted me 7 years and was only in the shop over night twice for repair and even then it was minor. For the money I spent on the car and the price I got at the trade I wouldn't buy this car again it just depreciated too much.
